Six South American referees and assistant referees attended the UEFA courses in Limassol (Cyprus), from 24 to 31 January 2024. Referees Facundo Tello (Argentina) and Wilton Sampaio (Brazil) participated in the 32nd UEFA Advanced Course for Top Referees, training focused on world-class referees, where they perform visual and physical tests, injury prevention training, discussions on different topics and training with the VAR tool. On the other hand, assistant referees Ezequiel Brailovsky and Gabriel Chade from Argentina, along with Bruno Boschilia and Bruno Pires from Brazil, participated in the 8th UEFA Course for International Assistant Referees, a course that helps the preparation and development of assistant referees with real game situations. The strengthening of collaboration in refereeing is part of the memorandum of understanding signed by CONMEBOL and UEFA in February 2020.
