Referee received bullets in the mail

Ecuadorian referee Diego Lara received death threats through a package containing a letter and two 45 caliber bullets. These evidences are being investigated by the National Police, who it trying to clarify who sent the package and the threat.
These bullets would have been sent, supposedly, by the fans of 9 October, after LigaPro announced the appointment of referees for matchday 11 of the second stage, when Lara was assigned the game between 9 October and Orense. The leadership of the Guayaquil team had requested the change of referee, as they consider that Lara has harmed them in one of the matches disputed in 2021. The Ecuadorian Football Federation (FEF) and LigaPro showed their support to referee Diego Lara and his family after the threat received at his home.
