Aytekin: from least to most popular referee in Germany

Making decisions - and above all: making the right decision - is not that easy. On the contrary: it takes a lot of personal development. Deniz Aytekin is a referee in the Bundesliga and has experienced for himself what it means to learn from mistakes. In his brand new keynote, the speaker reveals how you can live up to your decisions - and why you can be warm and emotional and still be accepted, regardless of whether you are a referee, manager, mediator or another decision-maker. He also explains how you can strengthen your inner attitude and how other people will have more respect for your decisions in the future.
“Deciding is an inner attitude. You can also decide with your heart, because you can be objective and neutral, and still emphatic. Collina said ‘you don’t need luck; you have to be prepared‘. That means that, if you prepare your decisions well, communicatively, explain them appropriately and live up to them, then you experience acceptance." Aytekin said that, in spite of his hard work, he was the least popular referee in Bundesliga, according to Kicker, in 2011. Then he met former Turkish FIFA referee Bülent Yildirim in 2015, in Palma de Mallorca, where they discussed about developing his personality through body language, gestures, words, mimics. As a result, Aytekin was chosen the German Referee of the Year in 2019 and Kicker ranked him the most popular Bundesliga referee in 2020.
