CONMEBOL is the third confederation, after UEFA and Concacaf, introducing their own referee badge. The new official badges in South America will be attached to the shirts of all referees and assistant referees appointed to CONMEBOL Libertadores, CONMEBOL Sudamericana and upcoming tournaments of national teams, starting on 15 September 2020.
These 10.5 x 8.5 cm badges (photo) were manufactured with a technology that allows exact details, such as the map of South America, representing the South American footprint. CONMEBOL continues to work toward a safe return of football in South America and the idea of these new badges, advanced by the Marketing Department and the Referees Committee, will grow the excitement.
