The Italian Referees Association has sent to FIGC the list of referees, assistant referees and video match officials proposed for inclusion into the FIFA List 2022. "I would like to thank Daniele Doveri and Paolo Valeri for the excellent work they have done in recent years, keeping the prestige of the Italian refereeing on a high level. Their expertise will not be lost, but will be exploited internationally in another important role, that of Video Match Officials, where, I am sure, they will be equally precious. I also thank assistants Alessandro Costanzo and Matteo Passeri, who were always up to the role. I have chosen to nominate two young referees of great talent and great prospects, Daniele Chiffi and Luca Pairetto, as well as assistants Giovanni Baccini and Marco Bresmes. My objective, as well as the AIA, is to carry out a rejuvenation in the name of quality, seriousness and competence. I am also proud of the proposed inclusion on the FIFA lists of three new female referees, Martina Molinaro, Silvia Gasperotti and Deborah Bianchi. I am convinced that our nominations, for all the roles, are in line with the value and consideration that has always accompanied our association", said the AIA President Alfredo Trentalange.
