AFC recently honoured World Cup assistant referee Bakhadyr Kochkarov with the Referees Memento Awards 2020. Kochkarov ended his career at 49, after 23 years on the FIFA List. “Such a decision was not easy, but my career had to come to an end. I must get back to my normal life. I will see what the future will offer”, said Kochkarov.
He began his international career in 1997, at the FIFA World Youth Championship, while his last international match was on 10 November 2019. Bakhadyr Kochkarov participated as an assistant referee in 9 World Cup matches, as part of Irmatov’s team, in 2010 and 2014.
