UEFA Champions League referee sentenced to prison for tax evasion

Norwegian referee Svein Oddvar Moen, one of the most prominent match officials in his country, who has refereed 26 UEFA Champions League matches throughout his career, was sentenced to 4 months in prison for tax evasion.
The decision was made this week by a Norwegian court and refers to the tax evasion of the 44-year-old referee between 2014 and 2020. During this time, Moen refereed several matches in Egypt and Saudi Arabia as a guest but has not declared these fees (1 million Norwegian crowns, which is about 87,000 euros) to Norwegian finances.
