The Senegalese journalist Samba Oumar Fall published a new book titled "Malang Diedhiou, the star come from Badiana". The 220-page book retraces the exceptional career of Malang Diedhiou and at the same time pays tribute to all the referees in Senegal who, he emphasizes, do a remarkable job, which has earned them international recognition.
Having become international referee in 2008, Malang Diedhiou has risen to the challenge and has imposed his authority in the sphere of refereeing. He rose through the ranks with remarkable speed, which allowed him to flirt with major competitions: U-17 and U-20 World Cup, Confederations Cup, Club World Cup, Olympic Games, World Cup, African Cup of Nations, African Nations Championship. With determination and perseverance, adds the author, “he has established himself as an essential figure in refereeing, thus showing the way to many referees whose dream is to become internationals. His name remains, for generations, as an example for competence, integrity, courage as well as his open and impartial spirit. And this star from Badiana, despite his status as Chief Customs Inspector, has never denied or forgotten his origins", recalls Fall.
