Costa Rican referees request financial aid

The Panel of Referees of the Costa Rican Refereeing Commission has sent to Rodolfo Villalobos a list of 25 referees, including the First Division, the Liga de Ascenso and women's football, who need financial help in the face of the slowdown experienced by the emergency of the COVID-19 coronavirus.
According to referee Pedro Navarro, last week they spoke with the president of the Costa Rican Football Federation about the problem that referees would experience without football, knowing that they would not receive the money from their fees and allowances. Villalobos asked them for a list of those who needed the help to take him to the Executive Committee and look for the type of help that could be given. Of the total of the list presented, only 4 are from the First Division: 1 referee and 3 assistants: "I thought the list was going to be larger, but we are talking about 20% of the total number of colleagues," says Navarro. Now the referees only hope that the Executive Committee will give them some money and that they can solve the needs that they have at this moment of stoppage of the national competition.
