Since the original appointments have been released, FIFA made several changes on the list. Due to his wedding scheduled for December 2016, Costa Rican referee Ricardo Montero and his team have been replaced by Roberto Garcia's trio from Mexico. In AFC, assistant referee Ebrahim Saleh (BHR) was replaced by 28-year-old Taleb Al Marri (QAT), who becomes the youngest match official at this competition. In CAF, assistant referee Marwa Range (KEN) will replace Berhe Tesfagiorghis (ERI), who was recently suspended. In OFC, assistant referee Ravinesh Kumar (FIJ) will no longer participate. Finally, Danny Makkelie (NED) will join the UEFA team as a second Video Assistant Referee.
