Former FIFA referees Romulo Mendez and Jorge Vigliano passed away

Sad news for football: Jorge Vigliano, former Argentine referee and father of the referees Mauro and Paulo passed away at the age of 78 after having battled throat cancer for a long time, and Romulo Mendez, the first Guatemalan referee to attend the World Cup, died at the age of 83. 
Jorge Vigliano, with extensive experience in Argentine and international refereeing, had a career of more than 50 years. In addition to being a former referee, teacher and former secretary general of the Argentine Association of Referees, Vigliano Sr. also served as a commentator for the Equipo Deportivo program, broadcast by La Redonda, a radio station in La Plata. Romulo Mendez Molina attended two FIFA World Cups in Spain 1982 and Mexico 1986. His start in refereeing was in 1971 in Guatemalan football and 5 years later (1976) he already made his international debut with games in the Concacaf Pre-Olympic tournament. (Source: FedeFutGuate)
