CTA president Medina Cantalejo received threats after Betis comments

The angry message of the Spanish club Betis on their twitter account, where they complained about the refereeing of Muniz Ruiz, has led to an unacceptable reaction against the president of the Technical Committee of Referees, Luis Medina Cantalejo, who lives in Sevilla.
Since the Betis club decided to use its twitter account against refereeing, there have been all kinds of reactions, including threats against him and his family members, to the point that national security forces have contacted him and have been monitoring his home in Sevilla last night. In addition, the RFEF Integrity Department has made known and denounced these threats that it had been receiving in the last hours. Most of the complaints against the referee body are dismissed by the CTA and the RFEF Integrity Department will send a complaint to the Competitions Committee for the message posted on the official Betis account, where they called it an "incomprehensible failure" and complained about the mistakes made in "the expulsion of Alex Moreno, handball in the penalty area, foul prior to goal and foul by William Carvalho when he was alone. There is no possible explanation." If accepted by the Competitions Committee, it will lead to the opening of a case and a fine in accordance with Article 100 bis of the Disciplinary Code regarding “statements made by anyone subject to sports discipline through any means by which the honesty and impartiality of any member of the CTA or the organs of the RFEF, as well as statements that imply a disapproval of the activity of any member of the groups mentioned when they are made with contempt or when offensive, insulting, humiliating or bad language is used". In the case of managers, clubs or any other person or entity, with a fine between 601 and 3,005.06 euros. Clubs can appeal these sanctions to the Appeals Committee and ultimately to CAS. And it is here where, according to the experience lived so far, all the sanctions imposed by the other federal bodies are being rejected.
