After a long and very successful career as a top referee, Gianluca Rocchi (Italy) blew his
final whistle last night at the end of Serie A match Juventus – Roma.
Rocchi became referee in 1989, was promoted to Serie A in 2004 and obtained his FIFA badge in 2008. Quickly (2010) included by UEFA in the Elite category, Rocchi was appointed to the Olympics 2012, FIFA U-17 World Cup 2013, FIFA Confederations Cup 2017, UEFA Super Cup 2017, FIFA World Cup 2018, UEFA Europa League final 2019. He also refereed the Italian Super Cup 2013, Saudi Arabia Cup Final 2013, Armenian Cup Final 2015, Italian Cup Final 2016 and was awarded the Giovanni Mauro Prize 2009 and Oscar del Calcio 2017/18 and 2018/19.
